Village Medical Collaborates with Walgreens Find Care™, Connecting Patients to Quality Primary Care During COVID-19 Pandemic

HOUSTON – April 10, 2020 – Village Medical today announced an expanded collaboration with Walgreens Find Care™, a digital platform and marketplace for localized healthcare services. Village Medical will be part of a national network of telehealth providers, connecting patients with convenient and affordable access to quality care from computers and mobile devices. This initiative coincides with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encouraging providers to address medical needs via telehealth, while also supporting social distancing, an important step in minimizing the impact of COVID-19.

“As we continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic, Village Medical is dedicated to ensuring all patients continue to receive personal, accessible and coordinated care,” said Clive Fields, co-founder and chief medical officer of VillageMD, the parent company of Village Medical. “Virtual visits are essential now, more than ever, to ensure the protection of providers, staff and patients alike. We encourage all patients to leverage Find Care for everything from annual wellness visits to chronic condition follow-up.”

Village Medical provides comprehensive primary care via virtual visits, in addition to in-clinic and in-home services, including routine physicals, treatment for illness and injury, diagnostic and screening services and management of chronic condition such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure and diabetes. By partnering with Walgreens Find Care, Village Medical can now connect patients with board-certified Village Medical providers across eight states (Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Texas) through the Walgreens app or online at www.walgreens.com/findcare.

“The recent expansion of Walgreens partnership with Village Medical is another example of how we are enabling patients to get superior primary care when and how they need it,” said Giovanni Monti, senior vice president of health care services, Walgreens Boots Alliance. “During this unique time of social distancing, we are pleased to bring Village Medical’s trusted local and national providers to a broader audience via Walgreens Find Care telehealth solutions.”

Village Medical has opened five Village Medical at Walgreens clinics in the Houston area since October 2019, providing comprehensive primary care services, integrated tightly with pharmacists, nurses and social workers to meet the full suite of patient needs.
