Beware of marijuana dispensary scams

Consumers have submitted numerous reports to BBB Scam Tracker about scams targeting customers of marijuana dispensaries in U.S. states where sales are legal for medicinal and/or recreational purposes.

CBD isn't a cure-all

No CBD product is medically proven to prevent, treat, or cure conditions like cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, or strokes. Talk to your doctor before changing or adding to your medication.

Misleading ads are common

Be skeptical. Advertisements have to be able to be substantiated and backed by competent and reliable scientific evidence. That includes claims that CBD products are “risk free.”

Report bad actors

If you come across a questionable CBD advertisement making dubious claims, report the company to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.
