Joe Biden spent about an hour at the Lancaster Recreation Center and spoke to three families from Pennsylvania who say they have benefited from the Affordable Care Act.

President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme court to overturn it, but Biden disagrees.

Today, he once again called for the president to end his lawsuit, saying his actions are cruel and are inflicting pain on those who he was elected to serve.

“Donald Trump refuses to end his senseless crusade against health coverage, I look forward to ending it for him. And working quickly with Congress to dramatically ramp up protections to get Americans universal coverage and lower healthcare costs as soon as humanly possible.”

One of the families Biden spoke with is from Lancaster. Stacie Ritter’s twin children were diagnosed with Leukemia when they were four-years-old. On stage, she was joined by one of the twins and spoke about the challenges she and her husband faced while caring for two sick children.

“There’s 400,000 children with pre-existing conditions and that’s just cancer. That doesn’t include juvenile diabetes or what your son has. The list goes on and on. So how can we in good conscience take that away from our children?”

She also talked about going bankrupt and how the ability to use Medicaid benefits impacted her family.

“The idea that a family should have to declare bankruptcy. The idea that somebody should be in a position where their child is not able to get the care, they need is the ultimate deprivation.”

Biden also spoke about his plan to bring quality affordable health care to all Americans.

If elected he says he will take care of American’s healthcare the same way he takes care of his own family’s; calling it personal and reflecting on his son Beau’s death in 2015.

Many of Biden’s campaign stops have been within short distance of his home in Wilmington Delaware, many of them here in Pennsylvania.
