Aim small, miss small! At archery club, you can learn about archery, safety, equipment, and improve your shooting skills. Specially trained staff and volunteers will make adaptations if necessary to help our archers be as successful as possible. Shoot at both 2-D and 3-D targets. All equipment will be provided, including your option of a recurve bow or crossbow. Pay a one-time $15 registration fee and bring $10 each week to WMAC to use their space and equipment.

Get out on the water as soon as the snow melts! In this 4 week class, students will be fitted properly into a kayak, taught proper kayaking techniques, safety, equipment use, and more! Adaptive equipment is available; including grip strength assistance, outriggers, and a Versa paddle. Participants must be able to right themselves in the water while wearing a PFD, swallow thin liquids, and breathe independently.

Kentwood Parks and Recreation is proud to present our 6th annual Adaptive Track and Field Clinic. Experienced athletes, recreational therapists, and coaches will provide instruction on proper techniques and track and field strategies. We will go through different stations to improve our skills in the following events: shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, the club throw, races, relays, and more! All adaptive equipment will be provided.

Let’s hit the greens! Scott Lake is a gorgeous and challenging course that will surely delight. No previous golf experience is required. If you need clubs, let us know and we can provide loaners. You must have a valid current driver’s license to operate the golf carts, otherwise a volunteer will be able to drive for you. An adapted golf cart is available if needed. Please bring $10 cash each week for greens fees. Parents/Friends/Caregivers are welcome!

Get ready to do the limbo! Spring into Summer with our annual Spring Fling Dance! This year we will have pizza, beverages, prizes, plenty of dancing, and a game! Our DJ will keep the party going! Be sure to wear your favorite spring time outfit.

Let’s hit the trails! Join the cycling club as we explore trails throughout Kentwood and the surrounding areas - schedule of locations TBD. Bring your own bike and helmet or use one of ours! Kitchen safety, measuring, and independence will be emphasized along with having fun and enjoying their home made treat! Let's Dance! All abilities are welcome to join the fun during our Inclusive Dance Workshop. This workshop will be inclusive of people who use wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, or a combination of mobility aides. All abilities are welcome! Experienced dancers will teach participants a choreographed dance. This workshop will include games, a snack, and lots of opportunities to learn different moves to increase confidence on the dance floor. At the end of the workshop, parents and caregivers will be invited in to watch our final product! Siblings are welcome to join the workshop, too.

Kitchen safety, measuring, and independence will be emphasized along with having fun and enjoying their home made treat! Protein is crucial for building strong lean muscles! Students will create a healthy protein packed breakfast dish and a yummy energy providing protein ball for dessert!

Come learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in America! All equipment and instruction will be provided. This clinic is geared towards those with physical or cognitive disabilities.

If you have enjoyed our canoe and kayak clinics in the past, and would like to advance to a river trip, then here is your chance! Join us for a fun day of floating down the Thornapple River. Some previous paddling experience is recommended, but not required. Pack a drink, snack, and a towel. Participants must be able to right themselves in the water with a PFD on, swallow thin liquids, and breathe independently. All equipment will be provided. Participants will be dropped off at the Middleville Dam (100 E. Main Street Middleville) where we will launch at the wheelchair accessible dock. Paddlers will then be picked up downriver around 3pm at Indian Valley Campground (8200 108th in Middleville). Our adaptive bowling league is a great place to meet new friends, have fun, and work on your bowling skills. Choose the league that suits you best; the 2-game recreational league (with bumpers), or the more competitive 3-game league. At the end of the season we will celebrate with a pizza party! Please bring cash every week to pay the bowling alley weekly bowling fees. $9 for 2 games, $10 for 3 games.
