"Dancing is bigger than the physical body. Think bigger than that. When you extend your arm, it doesn't stop at the end of your fingers, because you're dancing bigger than that. You're dancing spirit." - Judith Jamison

Join Amos Machanic and Renée Robinson, former members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in an exhilarating dance workshop exploration of choreographer, Ronald K. Brown's ballet, Dancing Spirit. With this work, which echoes the title of Judith Jamison’s autobiography, Brown pays tribute to Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison’s profound and lasting influence on the world of dance. Set to music by Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis and War, Brown’s evocative choreography uses movement from Cuba, Brazil and the United States to conjure dancing spirits who embody Jamison’s elegance, vision, dignity and generosity.
