The Balkerne Gate in Colchester is the best preserved Roman Gateway in Britain. A pilot project to generate an accurate 3D model was undertaken during 2019/2020 in a collaboration between Colchester Borough Council, BA Photography students from UCC Colchester Institute, and archaeological imaging consultant Prof. Dominic Powlesland. This collection of models result from these efforts. The students engaged with the photographic work and also undertook personal projects related to the Roman Walls. Unfortunately the project was interrupted by the Covid 19 Pandemic and links to the students private projects will now be added to this resource when it is possible.
