Rebel Music and Geffen Records Partner With Big Machine on Kidd G

Rebel Music and Geffen Records have linked with Big Machine Label Group's Valory Music imprint to work country/hip-hop artist Kidd G together.

Rebel Music and Geffen Records have linked with Big Machine Label Group’s Valory Music Co. imprint to promote developing country artist Kidd G, the companies tell Billboard.

“When we partnered with Kidd G last year, we knew it would take a special team to help him build his unique fanbase around the world,” said Javier Sang, founder/CEO of Miami-based label and management company Rebel Music. “With Geffen and Big Machine Label Group on board with us, he has a true dream team set up for him to win.”

His first release under the new arrangement, fronted by new song “Last Call,” out tomorrow, follows the December launch of Teenage Dream: 1000 Miles from Georgia, a deluxe version of Kidd G’s debut EP, which reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers album chart.

The 18-year old TikTok sensation, born Jonathan Gabriel Horne in the small Georgia town of Hamilton, blends country, rock and hip-hop. Over the last several months he released the sloping “Dirt Road,” which has garnered more than 16 million YouTube views and reached No. 40 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, as well as a number of similarly styled anthems which celebrate rural life.

“Kidd G is the sound of the next wave of great Georgia artists who’ve combined country & hip-hop in their own unique way,” said BMLG president/CEO Scott Borchetta. “Not unlike Jason Aldean or Brantley Gilbert before him, Kidd is a southern boy who will blur and ultimately stretch format lines.” Valory will provide support at country radio, as well as through various country marketing and commerce initiatives.

“Kidd G is an incredible artist who has galvanized music fans with his powerful songwriting and his ability to bend genres,” added Geffen Records GM Lee L’Heureux. “We are excited to be teaming up with Scott Borchetta and everyone at The Valory Music Co. to continue to grow Kidd G’s fanbase in the country music world.”
