Are you right for Matilda?

Matilda (Tilly) is a beautiful young Lurcher. She would benefit from living with another dog or a multi-dog household. If she was to be rehomed as the only dog, she would need lots of opportunities to socialise with other dogs. She is looking for a home with adult-only adopters, as when she feels overexcited, overwhelmed, or unsure she can mouth. She will need a home without cats or small furries. We have no history of her around livestock. Tilly lacks confidence in new situations so to help Tilly settle into a new home and environment we ask that adopters live within an hour of the rehoming centre so we can help facilitate this. We look forward to finding adopters that are happy to work with us collaboratively and through our advice, support, and direction, we are very hopeful we can get her settled into her forever home that she deserves. Tilly travels well in the car and she has partial housetraining.

Is Matilda right for you?

Matilda (Tilly) has come a long way since her rough start. She is a social butterfly when it comes to people and dogs. She thrives on routine. She is an adolescent dog so sometimes can struggle with her emotions, her go-to is mouthing. We now know Tilly’s triggers and we have protocols in place of what to do when it does happen, which we can share with you; every day she gets better and better in dealing with her emotions too. Tilly loves her walks and has the energy to go on hikes. She loves to play in water. Tilly enjoys playing with toys, a game of tug, and a game of fetch. She enjoys treats and is an intelligent girl who likes to learn new and challenging things. She is a quick learner and has already passed Dogs Trust Dog School with flying colours. As well as physical and mental exercise she also loves to sleep – the part Greyhound in her! She loves sleeping in a comical upside-down position. Tilly is very affectionate, she seems to particularly like males, she adores being made a fuss of. Tilly is ready to find her forever person that she can really bond with and call her own.
