Sultry R&B singer Sabrina Claudio, who released one of last year’s top albums of the genre with “Truth Is,” has dropped a Christmas-themed song and video called “Warm December.” While the lyrics have a straight-up holiday theme, the music is closer to her brand of R&B, with an even more intimate and torchy vibe.

“Warm December perfectly introduces the sentiment and temperature of the album as a whole,” Claudio says. “It sets the mood and brings you into the world of a Sabrina Claudio Christmas!”

Claudio is scheduled to open The Weeknd’s “After Hours” North American tour, which was postponed by the pandemic but has been rescheduled to launch in Vancouver in June of 2021.

The Miami native’s first major recordings were features on songs by Classmatez’s (“No Titles”) and Duckwrth (“I’m Dead”) and dropped her first EP, “Confidently Lost,” in 2017 amd followed with the “About Time” mixtape. She’s since dropped two albums, the most recent of which was “Truth Is.” Along the way she’s duetted with Khalid, A$AP Rocky, Wale and Zayn, toured with 6lack and featured on singles by the Chainsmokers and Gallant.

Claudio talked about her 2020 and the effect lockdown has had in a recent interview with Fault. “[A benefit is] being forced to take a step back and realizing what is absolutely important in my life,” she said. “The one thing I will thank this quarantine for is the ability to do that. I realize that I was slowly losing my way and perspective as to what mattered to me and being forced back into reality was the best thing that could’ve happened for my mental health. I’m truly the happiest I’ve ever been!”
