Data Totals by Location

These maps provide summarized crash and safety data by intersections or sections of road. This data is intended to be used for high-level prioritization and network planning rather than detailed project design.

Link Description
Total Crash Frequency by IntersectionPlanning level crash data grouped by intersection. This data cannot to be used for detailed analysis. The Traffic Safety Unit can provide detailed numbers if needed.
Section Safety Scores

Planning level crash data for state maintained roadway segments. Points for highway section projects are scored based on three components:

  1. Class Density Ratio – the crash density of the study area versus the average crash density of similar facilities
  2. Severity Index
  3. Critical Crash Rate Ratio – the actual crash rate for the study area versus the critical crash rate.

Projects & Studies Maps

Link Description
Spot Safety ProjectsLocations of spot safety projects that are in progress or completed. Spot safety projects are improvements to an intersection or section of road to address a specific crash pattern. This map is typically updated quarterly.
Spot Mobility ProjectsLocations of spot mobility projects that are in progress or completed. Spot safety projects are improvements to an intersection or section of road to address a specific congestion issue. This map is typically updated quarterly.
