This weekend we will see two fierce rivals go head-to-head in a huge game for both. Man City will look to close the gap on league leaders Arsenal, meanwhile Liverpool will hope to edge closer towards the top four, which they’re currently seven points away from.

Comparing Guardiola And Klopp Net Worth

It’s fair to say that both Guardiola and Klopp had successful playing careers, and they’ve now extended their success to the touchline.

So, let’s take a look at Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s net worth’s!

Pep Guardiola Net Worth

According to celebritynetworth.com Guardiola’s net worth stands at around £40 million. Reportedly, Guardiola takes home £20 million per year at City, which equates to just under £385,000 a week putting him in the same wage bracket as some of the highest earners in the league.

Guardiola has had past experience in endorsement sponsorships, and in the last few years landed a long-term deal with Puma. This made sense, with City’s kits being sponsored by the brand.

Back in his Barcelona days, Guardiola started a long-standing working relationship with designer clothing brand Dsquared2. He’s estimated to take home around £3 million per year with these sponsorships.

The Spaniard had a successful playing career, and it’s sometimes forgotten how much of a truly great player he was, given his impact in management over the last 15 or so years. He was an integral part of Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona, when they conquered both Spain and Europe in the early 90’s.

Guardiola won 16 trophies with Barcelona as a player, including six La Liga titles.

Managerial Career

He’s had similar success thus far as a manager, and has 32 honours to his name so far. The 52-year-old has won everything there is to win in Europe, conquering Spain, Germany and now England. After winning three back-t0-back La Liga titles with Barcelona in 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11, it set him up for a promising career in management. He even won the Champions League twice with the Spanish giants.

Just a couple of years later, he became manager of Bayern Munich, and much like his time in Barcelona, he won back-to-back Bundesliga titles, three years in a row. The first came in his maiden season in Germany in 2013/14, the second in 2014/15, and the third and final trophy in 2015/16, before moving on to Manchester City.

Pep has arguably experienced his most success as a manager in England, and it’s the longest job he’s had in management. He won the Premier League in 2017/18,  2018/19, 2020/21 and most recently in 2021/22. There is still still a chance that this season he can make it three league wins on the bounce for City. However, his side do sit eight points behind league leaders Arsenal, with 11 games left to play.

With all this success over the years, there’s no secret as to why Pep Guardiola is one of the richest managers in the Premier League.

According to celebritynetworth.com , Jurgen Klopp has a net worth of around £50 million. The German enjoyed a successful playing career, and he’s been fairly triumphant as a manager too. He gets a salary of around £16 million a year at Liverpool, and despite not being paid as much as Pep Guardiola, he still has a higher net worth.

That’s due to a lot of things, including the 55-year-old’s plethora of endorsement deals. He was formerly sponsored by Puma, but now finds himself as an ambassador of Adidas. He’s also featured in a range of German TV adverts, including Erdinger and Opel. It’s been previously reported that Klopp earns over £6.7 million a year from his endorsements. This figure has potentially gone up since the report.

Klopp played almost all of his football for Mainz 05, and signed for the club back in the 90’s and enjoyed an 11 year stay where he made over 300 appearances.

Managerial Career

Whilst Klopp’s career as a player wasn’t quite as successful as Guardiola, the German is still known as a legend at Mainz. So much that he became their manager the year he hung up his boots. He stayed at Mainz from 2001, to 2008 where in that time he managed to gain his side promotion to the Bundesliga from the 2. Bundesliga.

After impressing at Mainz, Klopp earned himself a job at Borussia Dortmund.  And, in the 2010/11 season, he proved his class by guiding the side to their first Bundesliga title in nine years.

He went on to successfully defend the title in the following season. Klopp’s Dortmund racked up 81 points, which was the highest in Bundesliga history at the time.

Klopp remained in Dortmund until the end of the 2014/15 season. After a short break in management he was appointed manager of Liverpool in October 2015.

In his first season at Liverpool, Klopp’s side were runners up in the Europa League, with fans excited about their future with the manager.

It took a while for a trophy, but in 2018/19 the German guided Liverpool to their sixth Champions League win, and in the following season he ended the Reds’ 30 year wait for a top flight title, their first in the Premier League era.

Over time, with success on and off the field, and even away from football – there’s no surprise that Klopp’s net worth is so high.
