This Saturday-night concert on Carnegie Hall’s grandest stage is part of World Orchestra Week (WOW!), celebrating extraordinary youth ensembles from around the globe. Witness the North American debut of the Africa United Youth Orchestra (AUYO), organized by South Africa’s Mzansi National Philharmonic Orchestra. The ensemble features outstanding young artists from multiple African nations in addition to the stellar musicians from South Africa. For this landmark concert, they perform a program that includes Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” as well as South African composer Michael Mosoeu Moerane’s Fatše La Heso (My Country). Additional artists and works will be added.
