The New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the United States and the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City that specializes in popular music. Steven Reineke has established himself as one of North America’s leading conductors of popular music, and is in his second decade as music director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, he is principal pops conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and principal pops conductor of the Houston Symphony and Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

On stage, Mr. Reineke has created programs and collaborated with a range of leading artists from the worlds of hip-hop, R&B, Broadway, television, and rock, including Maxwell, Common, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Cynthia Erivo, Sutton Foster, Megan Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, Wayne Brady, Peter Frampton, and Ben Folds, among others. In 2017, he was featured on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, leading the National Symphony Orchestra in a performance of live music excerpts between news segments—a first in the show’s 45-year history. In 2018, Mr. Reineke led the National Symphony Orchestra with hip-hop legend Nas, performing his seminal album Illmatic on PBS’s Great Performances.

As the creator of more than 100 orchestral arrangements for the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Mr. Reineke’s work has been performed worldwide and can be heard on numerous Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recordings on the Telarc label. His symphonic works Celebration Fanfare, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and Casey at the Bat are performed frequently. His Sun Valley Festival Fanfare was used to commemorate the Sun Valley Summer Symphony’s pavilion, and his Festival Te Deum and Swan’s Island Sojourn were debuted by the Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops orchestras. His numerous wind ensemble compositions are published by the C. L. Barnhouse Company and are performed by concert bands worldwide.

Nikki Renée Daniels recently played Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton at the CIBC Theatre in Chicago. Her Broadway credits include Company (Jenny); The Book of Mormon (Nabulungi); The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess (Clara); Les Misérables (Fantine); Anything Goes; Promises, Promises; Aida; Nine; Little Shop of Horrors; Lestat; and The Look of Love. Ms. Daniels made her New York City Opera debut as Clara in Porgy and Bess. Other New York credits include Martha Jefferson in 1776 at City Center Encores!, Rose Lennox in The Secret Garden at David Geffen Hall, and Tracy in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. On television, she has appeared as a featured player on Chappelle’s Show, Madam Secretary, and The Sound of Music Live!. Jordan Donica most recently starred as Jordan Chase in the CW Network’s Charmed. He previously guest starred in Blue Bloods, originated the role of Freddy Eynsford-Hill in the Tony-nominated Lincoln Center Theater production of My Fair Lady, and also starred as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the first Los Angeles and San Francisco companies of Hamilton. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Donica made his debut as Raoul in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera and played Rapunzel’s Prince in Into the Woods at City Center Encores!. In addition to his theater and television work, Mr. Donica was recently featured in the Washington National Opera’s gala at the Kennedy Center, and has appeared with the Pasadena Symphony and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He also starred as Sir Lancelot in Lincoln Center Theater’s gala production of Camelot, opposite Lin Manuel Miranda. Film credits include Coda: An Independent Film by Abe Purvis. Mr. Donica directed the 2015 festival play Little Prints—a new student work by playwright Anna Mulhall—as well as a gala performance of The Exonerated, featuring Harry Lennix and Katrina Lenk, at Northwestern University’s Center on Wrongful Convictions. In addition, he was featured at the American Songbook Hall of Fame celebration at the invitation of Michael Feinstein. Mr. Donica graduated cum laude from Otterbein University and is an ambassador for The Innocence Project. Matt Doyle won the 2022 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as Jamie in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, for which he also won Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards and received a Drama League Award nomination. His other Broadway credits include The Book of Mormon (in the lead role of Elder Price), Spring Awakening, War Horse, and the revival of the beloved musical comedy Bye Bye Birdie. Regionally, he most recently starred in the world premiere of the Huey Lewis musical The Heart of Rock & Roll at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego, and played Melchoir in the national tour of Spring Awakening. Off-Broadway and other regional credits include Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, A Clockwork Orange, Brooklynite, Giant, and Jasper in Deadland. On screen, he has appeared on CBS’s The Code and the original Gossip Girl; he can also be seen on HBO Max’s Gossip Girl and in the indie feature Private Romeo. Mr. Doyle has performed at Carnegie Hall with The New York Pops and with symphony orchestras across the country, and he continues to headline a sold-out solo show in New York City.

Melissa Errico is a Tony Award–nominated Broadway star, concert artist, and author. The Wall Street Journal recently referred to her as a “nonpareil cabaret singer” and called her 2018 album, Sondheim Sublime, “the best all-Sondheim album ever recorded.” That album led to sold-out concert dates around the country, including at Wolftrap and the Ravinia and Caramoor festivals, as well as in London and Paris. Her Sondheim roles on stage include Dot in Sunday in the Park with George at the Kennedy Center, Clara in Passion at Classic Stage Company, and Leona in the New York City Center Encores! production of Do I Hear a Waltz?. In 2020, she sang “Children and Art” in the Sondheim 90th birthday concert Take Me to the World, and was featured on the PBS special Poetry in America, in which she sang “Finishing the Hat” and discussed Sondheim and his lyrics with Adam Gopnik and Raul Esparza. Ms. Errico’s starring roles on Broadway include My Fair Lady, Amour, and High Society. Among her other musical mainstays is Michel Legrand, who arranged and conducted her symphonic album Legrand Affair. She was the only American performer invited to sing at the extraordinary two-day memorial to Legrand in 2019 at Paris’s Grand Rex theater. Her latest album, Out of the Dark: The Film Noir Project—which began life as a specially commissioned bilingual series of concerts at the French Institute Alliance Française—was recently released on Warner Music / Ghostlight Records. Ms. Errico authored a series of pieces for The New York Times titled Scenes from the Acting Life, which she is in the process of adapting into a book.

Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA (EVUSA) is one of New York’s preeminent choral ensembles. EVUSA comprises a talented roster of seasoned professionals and auditioned volunteers, dynamically fitted to the unique needs of each project. The ensemble performs with The New York Pops on its Carnegie Hall subscription series and has appeared at Lincoln Center and on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. EVUSA recently released the recording Washington Women, a collection of choral songs scored for mixed chorus, piano, and cello by Ms. Clurman and David Chase. Ms. Clurman conducts Essential Voices USA and the Singing Christmas Tree float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and currently teaches at the Manhattan School of Music. Her work has received Emmy and Grammy nominations, and she has collaborated with major classical orchestras and conductors worldwide. She was director of choral activities at The Juilliard School for 18 years, and a faculty member for the National Endowment for the Arts and Columbia University’s Institute in Classical Music and Opera.
