Mainstage Performances

Enjoy live concerts that feature People of Earth and Michael Hearst and the Unusual Creatures. Learn about some of the planet’s most unusual creatures, and dance along to vibrant sounds with our featured performer Erica Olivares Bowen.

Spring Sing

Welcome springtime as you sing along to festive songs that celebrate nature and the beauty of planet Earth. Artists Emily Eagen, Skye Soto Steele, and Sonia De Los Santos lead this interactive singing experience that the whole family can enjoy.

Musical Sound Garden

Make music come to life in the exploratory and adventurous “sound garden” facilitated by James Shipp and Brian Drye. Families get to improvise on melodic and rhythmic instruments to recreate nature’s sounds—from rainstorms to ocean waves to a walk through a forest.

The Nest

Join an interactive and musical story time with Connecting the Dots in Music’s “The Nest,” a tale about the ways we build community. During this performance, families can engage with musicians from Ensemble Connect.

Families can also contribute to an accompanying art installation that explores the themes of home and community.

Coloring Station

Color beautiful springtime images to celebrate music, animals, and nature. Families can also play with interactive sound generators to fill the space with nature sounds of their choosing.

Instrument Build and Play

Join music ensemble Bash the Trash to build your very own instruments from recycled materials. With your illustrious new creations, play along in a live performance celebrating sea turtles and learning about ocean clean up.

Sound Meditation

Looking for a more soothing experience? Travel on a peaceful journey of sound in this deep-listening meditation that explores our connection with nature. This calm space features instruments from around the world and is led by Michele Schifferle-Marzulli and Eileen Moran.

Quiet Zone and Family Care Room

Need a calming place to recharge? Take a break in the Quiet Zone, which is designed for families seeking a quiet area. Or take advantage of our Family Care Room, which is open to families attending to personal needs like infant feeding.

Family Days are made possible, in part, by endowment gifts from Linda and Earle S. Altman, The Irene Diamond Fund, Mr. and Mrs. Lester S. Morse Jr., and the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund.
