Joshua Roman

A Well-Being Concert
Sunday, December 3, 2023 6 PM Resnick Education Wing
Joshua Roman by Shervin Lainez
Find musical amazement and self-care encouragement in a Well-Being Concert with inspiring cellist Joshua Roman. Celebrated for his “playful zest for exploration” (The New York Times) and “contagious enthusiasm for musical evolution” (The Seattle Times), Roman is a TED Senior Fellow (and hit performer at the TED Conference) who became the Seattle Symphony’s youngest principal player at age 22. A prolific and eclectic solo career has now taken him around the world and included collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, DJ Spooky, Somi, Anna Deveare Smith, and numerous top orchestras.

Audience members can choose from a variety of casual and comfortable seating options, with mats, cushions, and chairs all available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Part of: Well-Being Concerts

Scholars and scientists across disciplines are partnering with Carnegie Hall to ask important questions about the relationship between music and wellness. The Berkeley Social Interaction Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of Professor of Psychology Dr. Dacher Keltner, is partnering with Carnegie Hall to study the experience of live concerts. Audience members will be invited to participate in this research after they purchase tickets. Participation will be compensated. Read more about the Berkley Social Interaction Lab survey here; note that by clicking this link you will leave the Carnegie Hall site.

If you are unable to attend this concert, you are still invited to participate in the study and will also be compensated. Read about the Berkley Social Interaction Lab survey for more information; note that by clicking this link you will leave the Carnegie Hall site.
