Kinan Azmeh's CityBand

A Well-Being Concert
Sunday, February 11, 2024 5 PM Resnick Education Wing
Kinan Azmeh by Liudmila Jeremies
Immerse yourself in a mesmerizing musical performance by “spellbinding” (The New Yorker) clarinetist Kinan Azmeh and his genre-crossing CityBand. The internationally renowned bandleader and composer has worked with such greats as Yo-Yo Ma, Aynur, Daniel Barenboim, and John McLaughlin. With his highly expressive quartet, Azmeh creates a dynamic blend of classical music, jazz, and the music of his homeland, Syria. Masterful improvisation and elements of interaction with the audience make this Well-Being Concert an especially powerful communal experience.

Audience members can choose from a variety of casual and comfortable seating options, with mats, cushions, and chairs all available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Part of: Well-Being Concerts

Scholars and scientists across disciplines are partnering with Carnegie Hall to ask important questions about the relationship between music and wellness. The Berkeley Social Interaction Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of professor of psychology Dr. Dacher Keltner, is partnering with Carnegie Hall to study the experience of live concerts. You are invited to participate in this study of the relationship between music and wellness, whether or not you attend the concert. If you participate, you will complete a series of surveys (for a total time commitment of approximately 90 minutes). You will receive a $15 gift card and also be entered into a drawing for an additional $50 gift card.
