Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Reed Brown, R-Sr., Oregon (Grapevine, Texas)

  • Knocked more than two seconds off his lifetime best with a time of 3:36.44 in the invitational section of the 1,500 meters at the Oregon Relays.
  • The Pac-12 leader by more than a second and No. 3 in the NCAA this season.
  • Became the fifth-fastest performer in Oregon history and is now a top-20 all-time collegiate performer (No. 18) at the distance.
  • Also turned in a 3:59.15 opening split as part of the Oregon squad that took part in the 4xMile.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Aneta Konieczek, R-Sr., Oregon (Zbaszyn, Poland)

  • In winning the steeplechase at the Oregon Relays, stopped the clock in 9:44.72 to establish a new Pac-12 best and the fifth-fastest performance in the NCAA this season.
  • Held off Oregon State's Grace Fetherstonhaugh (9:44.76) for the victory and led a quartet of women under the 10-minute mark.
  • Was the first steeple for Konieczek since representing Poland at last summer's Olympics in Tokyo.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Ty Hampton, R-So., Oregon (North Bend, Ore.)

  • Unleashed a conference-leading 252-10 (77.08m) in the javelin at the Oregon Relays, a mark that is currently ranked fifth in the NCAA this season.
  • Moved to No. 3 on the Oregon all-time list with the program's longest throw since 2012.
  • Added 17+ feet to his previous PR, established the week prior at the Mt. SAC Relays.
  • Finished fourth overall and second among collegians in a field that featured pros Cameron McEntyre and Curtis Thompson.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Jorinde van Klinken, Gr., Arizona State (Assen, The Netherlands)

  • Extended her national lead in the discus and went to No. 2 in the NCAA in the shot put with her sweep at the ASU Twilight Invitational. 
  • Her 209-1 (63.72m) discus throw added 13 inches to her season best, while her 60-6 (18.44m) shot mark was an outdoor PR and a one-foot, three-inch improvement.

Pac-12 in the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame

A national-best eight standouts from Pac-12 track & field programs are part of the inaugural, 30-member class of the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame.

The induction presentation for Jackie Johnson (Arizona State), Jackie Joyner-Kersee (UCLA), Gerry Lindgren (Washington State), Mel Patton (USC), Steve Prefontaine (Oregon), Meg Ritchie (Arizona), Henry Rono (Washington State) and Jenny Simpson (Colorado) will take place at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Ore., at 7:30 p.m. PT on Monday, June 6. 

The inaugural group of 30 inductees were chosen solely on their accomplishments while a collegiate athlete and eligibility was limited to men who had completed their collegiate eligibility prior to 2000 and women prior to 2010. The Pac-12's eight members in this first Hall of Fame class are three more than any other conference (Big Ten - 5).
