Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Luis Peralta, R-So., Oregon (Passaic, N.J.)

  • Recorded a season-best time of 1:49.12 to win the 800m at the Oregon Twilight.
  • Moved to No. 7 in the Pac-12 this season and collected a top-35 NCAA West regional qualifying mark (No. 34).

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Carley Thomas, So., Washington (Sydney, Australia)

  • Ran her fastest 800m time since 2020, prior to suffering a broken leg.
  • Went 2:03.58 at the Sound Running meet in San Juan Capistrano, the fastest time in the Pac-12 and 14th-fastest in the NCAA this season.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Mason Strunk, R-Fr., Oregon (Salem, Ore.)

  • Unleashed a lifetime best of 214-8 (65.43m) to finish third in the hammer at the Oregon Twilight.
  • With his final toss, added more than three feet to his previous best (211-5).
  • Currently ranks seventh in the Pac-12 and 18th in the NCAA West standings.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Jaida Ross, R-Fr., Oregon (Medford, Ore.)

  • In the event's penultimate throw, got the discus out to 182-1 (55.51m) to overtake Sable Lohmeier of BYU for the win.
  • Established a new lifetime best by nearly eight feet and moved to No. 3 on the UO all-time list.
  • Is currently sixth in the Pac-12 in the event.
  • Completed the double with a victory in the shot put (55-0.25/16.77m).

Pac-12 in the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame

A national-best eight standouts from Pac-12 track & field programs are part of the inaugural, 30-member class of the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame.

The induction presentation for Jackie Johnson (Arizona State), Jackie Joyner-Kersee (UCLA), Gerry Lindgren (Washington State), Mel Patton (USC), Steve Prefontaine (Oregon), Meg Ritchie (Arizona), Henry Rono (Washington State) and Jenny Simpson (Colorado) will take place at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Ore., at 7:30 p.m. PT on Monday, June 6. 

The inaugural group of 30 inductees were chosen solely on their accomplishments while a collegiate athlete and eligibility was limited to men who had completed their collegiate eligibility prior to 2000 and women prior to 2010. The Pac-12's eight members in this first Hall of Fame class are three more than any other conference (Big Ten - 5).
