How does 9T Labs tech help us manufacture high performing parts with carbon fiber?

9T Labs' Additive Fusion Technology™ (AFT™)  follows three simple steps to create high-performance parts using carbon fibers. The initial step involves designing and optimizing your part with the fibrify® software by 9T Labs. The subsequent step facilitates the creation of the part using high-performance carbon composite material through the Build Module. Finally, the Fusion Module consolidates the built parts, enabling the creation of unique shapes, improving layer bonding, minimizing voids and internal stresses, and achieving a premium surface finish.

Does 9T Labs produce parts or sell machines?

9T Labs is a tech company that equips original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), part suppliers, universities, and research centers with machines and a software to fully utilize 9T Labs' Addivite Fusion Technology™ (AFT™) for flexible, in-house part production and research activity. During the initial phase of scaling up, 9T Labs provides dedicated support by closely guiding its customers in adopting AFT™ technology.

What makes continuous fibers ideal for manufacturing structural parts?

It is well known that thermoplastics offer many benefits such as reversibility that enables recycling and reforming of parts. High-temperature thermoplastics like PEKK offer a plethora of benefits in terms of chemical, thermal, and even electrical properties that make them ideal for more demanding applications in aerospace, oil & gas, and medical devices. When combined with continuous fibers, the mechanical performance of these thermoplastics increases by orders of magnitude, allowing manufacturers to utilize continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite parts instead of heavier metals like aluminum, steel, or titanium.

How can we recycle parts with 9T Labs technology?

9T Labs uses carbon composite materials with easy-to-recycle thermoplastic resin instead of difficult-to-recycle thermoset materials. After use, these parts can be shredded, and the fibers along with the polymer can be easily reused using 9T Labs' Addivite Fusion Technology™. During consolidation, this shredded material is combined with additively manufactured preforms, creating parts with excellent mechanical properties.
