Cheri Speier-Pero

E&Y Professor of Accounting and Information Systems, Broad College of Business at Michigan State University

Dr. Cheri Speier-Pero is the Ernst & Young Professor in Accounting and Information Systems in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Dr. Speier-Pero received her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Indiana University in 1996 and her primary research interests include effective decision making in technology supported work environments on decision making, individual acceptance and use of technology, applied predictive analytics, and the effective use of information technology to support supply chain relationships. She has published articles in a breadth of disciplines including journals focused on information systems, psychology, management, supply chain management, marketing, and human resources. This breadth of publication outlets reflects the highly integrative and applied lens from which Dr. Speier-Pero approaches her research projects. This applied approach to research extends to federal grant and corporate grant funding from the National Science Foundation (online learning) and the Department of Homeland Security, IBM, and Dow Chemical (supply chain and information technology initiatives to protect the food supply). In addition, Dr. Speier-Pero has served in academic leadership roles including the Editor-in-Chief at Decision Sciences having previously served as Senior and Associate Editor at a variety of journals.

At Michigan State University, Dr. Speier-Pero served as faculty director for the Masters of Science in Business Analytics program and teaches business analytics courses in in this MSBA and MBA programs. In this role, she supported and administered over a dozen student/corporate business analytics projects each year across a variety of industries.

Dr. Speier-Pero was awarded the MSU University-wide Teacher Scholar award in 2001 and the Broad College Withrow Award in 2015 recognizing her excellence in teaching and research. She has served on the Board of Directors at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union and a Fortune 500 mutual insurance company.
