For Your Inspiration
The Spotlight Is On: Kris Bowers
The Music Center is thrilled to share the news about the latest work of one of our Spotlight alums, Kris Bowers (Spotlight Classical Instrumental, 2004). His film, The Last Repair Shop, is nominated for a 2024 Academy Award® for Best Documentary Short Film!
Co-directed by Bowers, The Last Repair Shop grants an all-access pass to the nondescript downtown warehouse where a dwindling handful of devoted craftspeople keep over 80,000 student instruments in good repair. Witness the profound life stories of four staff master craftspeople as well as the students whose lives have been transformed by their instruments.
Spotlight is proud to be a part of the creative journey of young artists like Kris Bowers and countless others. Learn how you can change and inspire future generations with a gift to The Music Center's Spotlight program today.

TMC Arts
When we speak of our vision to deepen the cultural lives of all Angelenos, we turn to the work of TMC Arts. This team champions the diverse voices and communities of Los Angeles, fostering connection, creativity and enrichment. TMC Arts programs connect people, offering us the chance to get creative and to learn as we discover something new or enjoy something familiar. Many programs are free and low-cost; they take place outdoors on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center and in Grand Park, inside The Music Center's theatres and in schools and neighborhoods all across L.A. County.
