2022: Started 11 games and posted a 2-4 record during his final season...had a 9.40 ERA in 37.1 innings of work, striking out 30 batters...struck out a career-best eight batters versus Truman State University...finished his career with a 8-10 record and a 6.04 ERA, striking out 111...ranks 19th all-time at USI in strikeouts. 

2021: Named Academic All-GLVC...posted a team-best five wins in 11 starts...finished the year 5-3 with 38 strikeouts and a team-best 3.61 ERA after 52.1 innings of work...tied a career-high six strikeouts at Trevecca Nazarene University and versus the University of Missouri-St. Louis...limited opposing batters to a .259 batting average, second on the team. 

2020: Named Academic All-GLVC...started all four appearances, going 16.1 innings pitched in total...fourth on the team with 11 strikeouts in the shortened season...concluded season with 0-1 record following the loss to Davenport University.

2019: Named Academic All-GLVC...appeared in 10 games, starting six, as a reliever and starter...had a 1.2 record and 4.96 ERA in 32.2 innings...struck out 32 batters, including a season-best six versus the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside...posted his first collegiate win versus Truman State University.

2018: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Lettered in baseball and basketball at New Castle High School (New Castle, Indiana)...three-time All-Conference and All-Area in baseball...posted a 5-0 mark as a senior with a 1.57 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 35.2 innings of work...had a 2.94 ERA in 29 innings pitched his junior year…helped the team win sectional championship freshman year.

PERSONAL:  Son of Scott and Kim Welch...graduated with a bachelor's degree from USI in accounting and professional services in 2020.
