Alex Eaton was appointed to the USI Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator in September of 2012.
As the associate director of athletics, Eaton monitors and ensures compliance with all NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and University rules and regulations by USI’s 17 varsity programs. She also serves as the senior women’s administrator and assist with game management activities.
Eaton comes to USI from the University of Maryland (College Park, Maryland) where she was the assistant director of compliance for the NCAA Division I institution. She was charged with overseeing financial aid for Maryland’s student athletes as the liaison between the Office of Student Financial Aid and the Resident Life Office, while assisting NCAA and ACC staff interpretations.
Prior to her tenure at Maryland, Eaton served as the compliance assistant at The Citadel. She oversaw all initial eligibility; created and distributed monthly educational newsletters to coaches and department administrators; and acted as liaison with Southern Conference Associate Commissioner for Compliance. Eaton also served as interim compliance director during the summer of 2010.
The Maryland graduate received a bachelor’s degree in general business in 2007 and earned a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2010.
