Scotland and Wales will receive £160 million to build floating offshore wind farms, ministers said last night.

The funds were announced as Boris Johnson travelled to Rome for the G20 summit, which will lay the ground for the UN climate change summit next week.

The money is intended to help the government meet its commitment to quadruple offshore wind farm capacity to 40 gigawatts by 2030, including up to one gigawatt of floating turbines.
