ASH - A section of Brunswick County road will temporarily close this month while new drainage pipes are put in.
Pireway Road NW near Ash-Little Road NW will close at 7 a.m. Nov. 13. During the closure, N.C. Department of Transportation crews will replace the deteriorated crossline pipes under the roadway with new ones. The work is expected to be completed the evening of Nov. 21.
Traffic will be detoured onto Swamp Fox Highway (Columbus County), N.C. 905 (Seven Creeks Highway), N.C. 130 (New Britton Highway), Whiteville Road, U.S. 17 (Ocean Highway), Longwood Road NW (N.C. 904).
Drivers should plan ahead as their commute will take longer than normal and use caution if traveling near the work site.
