Biography

2023-24: Returned to the USI lineup by starting all 32 games...helped USI win the 2023-24 Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships...averaged 5.1 points and 18.2 minutes per game...also recorded more than one rebound and one assist per game...shot 35.1 percent (46-131) from the floor and 33.3 percent (34-102) from beyond the arc...sank 90 percent (36-40) at the free-throw line...scored in double figures in back-to-back wins against Oakland City on November 12 and Northern Illinois on November 16, posting 13 points and 14 points, respectively...hit four triples in the 66-60 win over Northern Illinois on November 16...recorded eight or more points in six games against Ohio Valley Conference opponents, including nine in the 81-53 OVC Tournament Championship game against UT Martin...landed in the top 50 in USI scoring history with 652 career points...a top-15 three-point shooter in USI history, surpassed 100 career made three-pointers during the season...named CSC Academic All-District.

2022-23: Did not play...redshirted.

2021-22: Earned second-team All-GLVC honors as well as Academic All-GLVC accolades after playing and starting 28 of USI’s 29 games…averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game…shot 43.9 percent from three-point range…was 12th in the GLVC with 1.68 three-pointers made per game and 14th in total three-pointers made (47)…ranked second in the GLVC and 25th, nationally, in free throw percentage (.884)…reached double-figures in the scoring column 12 times, including a season-high 22 points in USI’s 79-71 loss to Tampa…had her first-career double-double when she paired 12 points with a career-high 10 rebounds in USI’s 80-71 win over Rockhurst…dished out a season-high seven assists twice and had a season-best five steals in USI’s 87-59 win over Quincy.

2020-21: Garnered Academic All-GLVC honors after fighting through an injury to play in 10 games, making eight starts and averaging 25.1 minutes played per game...played a significant role in USI's team success as the Eagles were 9-1 in games that Blackwell played in and 8-0 in games that she started...finished third on the team with 9.0 points per game and was second on the team with 2.4 assists per game...racked up 10 or more points in six games...matched a career-high with 14 points in USI's 56-51 home win over Indianapolis and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds in USI's 70-55 home win over Rockhurst...had a season-high four assists in three games and picked up a season-high three steals in three contests.

2019-20: Collected Academic All-GLVC honors after playing in all of USI's 27 games, averaging 5.3 points and 1.4 rebounds per game...scored a season-high 14 points in USI's 70-55 home win over Lindenwood and pulled down a season-best five rebounds in USI's 86-75 loss at Ferris State...dished out a season-high three assists in three games and had a season-high five steals in USI's 65-41 win over Quincy...led USI in three-point shooting percentage (.370) as she knocked down 27 of her 73 shots from behind the arc.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Bloomington South High School where she earned varsity letters in basketball, golf, softball and track & field...was named the Herald Times Online Girls Basketball Area Player of the Year twice and All-State honors as a junior and a senior...named to the IHSAA Top 100 Underclassman as a junior in 2017-18 and was an Indiana Junior All-Star...was a multiple time All-Conference and All-Area selection throughout her prep career.

PERSONAL: Daughter of David and Nichole Blackwell...is a second-generation Screaming Eagle as her father played baseball at USI from 1992-93...her mother, Nichole (Cheesman), played softball at USI from 1992-93.
