The financial fallout of Covid-19 is astonishingly bleak and inescapable. While congress recently passed a bill that would help boost the economy and give loans to businesses both large and small, they made it explicit in the fine print that anyone working in the sex industry, straight or gay, would be prohibited from receiving said funds. Sex workers are a broad and diverse group of people, including adult flm stars, exotic dancers, escorts, even cam and clip artists. These are people who pay taxes and are a major part of the working class which stimulates our economy. If we want to uphold the constitution, and protect equal rights for everyone, without prejudice or descrimination, this decision must be overturned. Sex workers deserve the same rights as anyone who both labors and produces economic growth. It’s time we’ve made our voices heard. Congress must right this wrong. It’s morality clause, to invalidate sex workers is not only immoral, it’s dehumanizing. 

The exact discrimination is written as is: applicant that presents "live performances of a prurient sexual nature," and anyone who "derive(s) directly or indirectly more than de minimis gross revenue through the sale of products or services, or the presentation of any depictions or displays, of a prurient sexual nature."
