According to new reports, Greg Abbot, the governor of Texas, has deemed all transgender minors still living with their families as experiencing abuse under their own homes, that they have been abused to 'become' transgender. Instead of stopping actual abusive relationships with trans youth and abusive families, simply being transgender is the problem. Any parent in Texas with a trans child, supportive or not, will be seized by the government, and the victim will be evaluated. This is frankly, not okay.

Being transgender is not a result of child abuse, and never has been. The only thing that's abuse is our mistreatment and lack of representation by the US government. We need to protect transgender youth, and fast. This could be in effect soon, and its likely that it will. The lives and sanity of these children are in our hands. Please, vote against Abbot.

LGBTQ+ people still have to fight for the right to live amongst others, every single day. And now, things are going to become a lot more difficult for trans minors living in Texas. Even if you aren't an American, consider signing.
