Texas governor Greg Abbot has made a recent transphobic law, outlawing gender-affirming health care for minors, ordering EVERYONE to report this care to the state or face criminal prosecution. I, along with many other people, are livid because of this new law, which restricts children under the age of 18 basic human rights. Being comfortable in your own skin is now ILLEGAL in Texas. He is taking away the trans community's self expression. Children under the trans umbrella are living in fear because of Abbot and his new law. The LGBTQ+ community deals with homophobia DAILY but most of them have not experienced intolerable things like this. Texas, in fact, seems to be taking a step back. We are not progressing. We are only becoming worse as a whole. This includes the abortion law Abbot also created. He has made the nation's strictest abortion measures, banning the procedure as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, without the exception of rape and incest. This is completely ignorant. Most women aren't even aware they are pregnant at this time. This is especially dumb if the woman cannot financially support having and RAISING a child. I will not let this stand. Greg Abbot should not have the right to take away these from us, especially as a straight male. We can easily come together to fix this state-wide issue. Either Abbot needs to change his laws, or he needs to be thrown out of office. Please take a few minutes out of your day to sign this petition.
