EIT Climate-KIC Blue Background

Who we are

EIT Climate-KIC is Europe’s leading climate innovation agency and community, supporting cities, regions, countries and industries to meet their climate ambitions through systems innovation and place-based transformations.

Together with our partners, we generate, implement and integrate climate solutions by mobilising finance, testing business models, and opening pathways for institutional change and behavioural change. We orchestrate large-scale demonstrations that show what is possible when cycles of innovation and learning are deliberately designed to trigger exponential decarbonisation and build resilient communities.

More about us

What we do

Systems change requires interconnected solutions – across scales and siloes, across hearts and minds. We work to create transformation in the places where we live and work, grounding climate action locally.

Learning and capability building

In systems change, outcomes of interventions are not easy to predict. So we must be willing to jump into the unknown, experiment and learn, and allow unexpected results to emerge and flourish. Our activities aim to provoke a shift towards this experimentation mindset, activating radically new ways of approaching the poly-crisis.

Climate entrepreneurship

Realising the full potential of climate solutions requires a concerted global effort, a shift in mindsets, and a stronger focus on demand-driven initiatives. We are accelerating climate innovation to meet the needs of local climate challenges across the globe. Our aim is to transform the start-up support landscape, ensuring that climate impact is deeply embedded in the fabric of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
