The thing I absolutely love about Rosendin is that they care about their people. This was shown to me during my first summer internship and is still very evident as I go through my second-year internship. This experience with Rosendin has been amazing because it immediately immersed me in the electrical construction industry. It has been a pleasure to work alongside the team at Kaiser Permanente in Woodbridge, VA as they have provided me with knowledge that I will carry with me as I progress with this amazing company. I am truly grateful that I could have this experience and I am excited to continue my journey with Rosendin Electric.

Whether we’re going through our prequalifications, that we’re actually putting in the budget that it’s going to take a certain level of safety or even putting a full-time safety professional on there. Just making sure that they have the training, tools, material that they need to safely person their tasks.

“I went through the Intern Boot Camp at Rosendin’s Headquarters in California in 2015 and there were no more than 15 total interns that attended. At the end of my internship, I went back to school and took a few weeks to think things over, and before the next career fair even started I had already accepted a full-time position with Rosendin as an Assistant Project Manager. As a whole, the company has been awesome so far and I see a lot of things that are headed in the right direction with always looking forward, willingness to change, and at the same time a willingness to change something if there is a better way to do it. Rosendin allows their interns to fit best to the path that they want.

I truly enjoy waking up each day and working alongside such amazing people. Management support here is unlike any place I’ve worked before. Our employees are empowered to take charge of their careers, and tools are provided to allow everyone to achieve success. Additionally, there is an emphasis on the importance of a healthy work-life balance which is important to me with small children at home. I take comfort in the reality that we are all in this together. I get to work for a company where everyone is quite literally working together for the greater good of the entire company.

I’m most proud when wearing the Rosendin Brand at national conferences. Our national reputation is strong and runs deep, and the hard work and dedication of every employee (past and current) is evident with every conversation I have. I’m proud to be a part of this team!

Working at Rosendin has been a great learning experience. I love working with the people, Rosendin cares, safety is a virtue, and at Rosendin you’re part of a family. As an employee-owned company, we have a bigger investment in the success of the company, it’s personal. Pride and responsibility come with being an employee-owner.

I had the opportunity to work with several other contractors during my college internships, and I value each one of those experiences. The last internship I did was with Rosendin, and I immediately knew that this was going to be where I was going to spend my career. The way Rosendin conducts business and invests in its employees is what sets us apart from other contractors. There are a certain drive and motivation at Rosendin that can be contagious where people are motivated to succeed and constantly improve. At my age, that is the most important thing to me – being constantly motivated and moving forward.

Before I started full-time with Rosendin, I interned for two years. My internship helped me to get hands-on experience with writing RFIs, doing submittals, and reading drawings and documentation that we didn’t necessarily cover in class. I decided to stay with Rosendin because I felt like everyone was really trying to help me do better. I have a mentor, and I have someone that gives me goals and expectations to get to the next step.

“While you’re at work the goal has to be same amongst everybody so you can achieve the result at your wanting which is success. Same way as the military, we were people from all different demographics and all around the country coming together for the same purpose of serving your country and defending the nation at a moment’s notice, if we need to. Everyone had a set task and they needed to perform their tasks and obligations in a timely manner efficiently and with as little remediation or repair work as possible. It’s no different than putting together a solar farm or working at a power plant, data center, or even doing service work.”

“I have worked for Rosendin longer than I have been in the military, so this journey started with Rosendin supporting me all the way back to my boot-camp days in 2012. Rosendin has always been very supportive of me in my military career and (my) military veteran status. Being in the military has helped me strengthen my leadership role, enhance my organizational skill-set, and develop time-critical risk management skills. I have also become a great planner of work…due to always having to plan strategies and quick solutions to problems that arise daily. When you have a mission to execute, ‘can’t’ is not an option.

Being a Reservist has taught me great planning and execution tactics and given me an organizational skill set that I use daily. This has allowed me to grow into a motivator, role model, and leader. The Texas team has been very supportive of my role and when I was deployed, the office sent me a 75-pound care package to my location in Africa. It was one of the greatest feelings to know that my Rosendin family was supporting me from over 5,000 miles away and one I will never forget.”

“My time in the Marine Corps has been invaluable to my work with Rosendin. Having been in countless tense situations, I have learned to remain calm in the face of any obstacle (or safety issue) and work to find a solution. The leadership and interpersonal skills I learned from the Marines have enabled me to relate to and bond with the workforce to help build the Rosendin team, brotherhood, and hopefully make our job sites a safer place.”

“My military experience gave me a precise sense of ‘Chain of Command’ and responsibility to subordinates. There were some very key moments in my career that put the definition of leadership and authority into sharp focus. These experiences have made me a more successful team member and team leader in all aspects of my life. The same experiences and values that the military prized and rewarded you for, such as teamwork and leadership, translate directly here [at Rosendin] and will make you equally as successful.”

“One thing I learned from the Marine Corps, especially in the infantry, was a lot of drive. When you had to get something done, we got it done one way or another with whatever we got. A lot of it is just pushing through.”

The biggest thing that I could say or offer up for the civilian world is to know that we have value outside of the military. We bring something to the table in organizations that you really can’t get anywhere else. The amount of experience, maturity, and good leadership decisions that you get in the very youngest person that’s been through a boot camp experience are a huge value to any organization.
