Ben Chandler is kicking off the long weekend with a reminder that it's OK to mess up.

His new single "Young Mistakes," co-produced by apob, is premiering today on Variance along with its video directed by Dom Stills. The reassuring track reflects on past blunders, while looking beyond those errors.

"When I was writing ‘Young Mistakes,’ the ideas flowed so quickly," recalls Chandler. "My good friend apob who co-produced and originally gave me the idea of a song about young mistakes felt so right at the time. I was making a lot of mistakes personally and I feel like with this song everything came together exactly how we both pictured it. Something that everyone can relate to. We all make mistakes, but we always learn from them as well. This song is for those who have made mistakes in the past they aren't happy about but understand it's okay and they learned and grew past them. From mistakes of young love, to mistakes of substance abuse, I hope everyone who listens can understand that it's okay, you're doing better now."

The new music follows Chandler's recent Transitions EP, which arrived back in February.
